Paid $4.54 yesterday. Still hurt to see the pump show $112 after pumping only 24.5 gallons!
One station about 12 miles out of my way has it currently for $4.37.

Diesel is $5.09 here now. The local pump stopped at exactly $100.00 the other day when I filled up. A fluke or was it really full? The gauge reads like it's full. Odd that it stopped at exactly $100.00. Yeah, he did that!

Here in SW Missouri, diesel was $4.59 a little over a week ago. Then it went to $4.79. Thursday, I had to pay $4.99. This morning, it's at $5.19!
This is the first time in my life that I have personally seen fuel go over $5 a gallon.

Mission accomplished. Welcome to the new normal.
truck stops are higher than their auto counterparts just down the street here. Casey's (Pilot still owns the pumps just a branding scheme) diesel $5.19 while Pilot Truck stop 200 yard away cash $5.69 credit $5.75
And typically Debit cards shut off at $75 or $100 where credit cards will go higher. Has to do with the amount of risk the vendor is willing to take.

I check Gas Buddy pretty much daily to get a feel for the trend. Last Tuesday, the spread was from $5.05 to 6.38 at 8:00 AM. There was only one station near by at $5.05. Around 1:00 PM the same price was still posted (same 8:00 AM posting), so I headed on over. When I got there the pump said $6.28. I looked for the next cheapest near by and it was $5.49. When I got there it was $5.99. I said "f" it and filled up. I figured if I went to the next station it would be even worse.
Right now, in a different part of the state, the spread is showing $4.99 - 6.49. I suspect the $4.99 is incorrect, but I won't be driving 10 miles to find out.

No president Nancy Pelosi, yet. That would only happen if both, the pres and vice were lost, simultaneously. "President Harris" would appoint a vice, which still leaves Nancy #2 (read that however you like). With any luck (and/or a fair election), that will only be an option until November but, alas. Harris is Biden's defense against the 25th. So, that's where we are. If there was ever a definition of FUBAR...
Yeah. Screwed.
There was a Saturday Night Live skit back when Jessie Jackson was campaigning for President. The jist was he had been elected president and a reporter was asking him if he was concerned about assassination. His response was "No, like my predecessor I have retained Dan Quayle as my vice president..."
(Apologies to Dan Quayle...)
