Bad weather and snowy roads made me run HJ Attitude on level 0, for 100 miles or so. Had been running L5. At the last stop sign before my destination, roads had cleared up, I bumped to level 2. Three miles later, pulled in, stopped went to reverse

It's not your attitude. Most likely your NSBU Switch. Usually happens if wet or old.
Common symptions, (from what I remember):
-hard shifting
-stuck in 3d gear
-auto door lock not working
-P R N D 3 2 1 lights not working properly
-truck won't move after shift
Dealers charge about $100 for switch. Purchase from dmaxalliTech or Allison Dealer for about 1/2 price. New style tan switch supposed to be better than original black switch.
Perform search for "NSBU".
This site had posted good installation instructions under "Feature Article" in the past.
check your codes. you'll probably find a p0708 and a p0700. if so get a 29540479 park neutral position/neutral start backup switch (which ever you perfer). from your local Allison dealer it's about $60 or your can get one from your GM dealer for about $170.

This am SES still on. Acted normal other than that, until I got where I was going, and started to backup. Indicator was crazy. Shifting a bit unsure. Can I drive it this way without futher issue from PA to Texas? Rather change there due to cold/snow. Leaving end of week. OR does this need immediate attention?
You may not make it. I wouldn't even attempt it. It will only take you 20 minutes to change. If I remember right, 3 bolts and one connector.

Got appointment with Penn Diesel, they are an Allison shop. $50 for part, 1 hour $85 labor. There's enough snow and cold, they are doing it this afternoon. thanks guys.
You'll be glad you spent the $85 to have it done before you go!
