I decided to go to Atco raceway last night to see what my stock 3500 GMC would do with only the predator 120hp tune. To my suprise the truck went 15.25@89mph. I was very pleased at how the truck ran. I do belive i can improve this time. I ran in 4high with a 3000rpm launch. i only ran once then went home. has any one else ran their 3500? Also please give me some launching tips? thanks smile.gif

3000rpm OH MY GOD.......
I think you are a bit high, I don't see how you could hold the truck without pushing forward. 1800 or so seems to be pretty good....give or take 200rpms or so. Biggest thing is to keep the truck as hot as possible while trying to keep the tranny around 150 or so.

From past experience with my Outlaw 10.5 camaro i have learned how to stage then two step it. So i let the other guy stage, they i pre staged then staged and mashed the throttle quickly letting go on green as soon as it hit 3000. fun to do. wondering if anyone else has some tips on lauching these big trucks other than just smashing it?

As I said, 1800 or so......my times were 1.800 60ft. using this.
As for 3000rpm on the 10.5, I'll have to take your word for it, but I always had better results holding at about 1000 and letting the converter flash on my 11" tired leaf spring car...1.47 60ft.
Don't worry about the light you cut unless you are bracket racing, it's you against the clock. I pre-stage until the other guy does then I stage and roll the boost up until the tach is about 1800, give or take.

Edit: If you let him stage first, he will be rushing you to stage. If you are the one to stage first, you have a little time to settle everything down while he is staging.
lower the torsion bars down a few turns,i always hold at about 1800 to 2000 then smack it when the light turns green.best et so far 12.7 at 110 mph
