Ok, Guys this is my first post to this forum. I have a 05 GMC 2500HD D/A w/ 1,240 miles on it, and have some questions about what is normal. First off, the truck configuration is of coarse a LLY w/ AFE stage II filter, Juice / attitude, and Stock wheels hugging 285

Welcome!

I would get the speedo corrected before being too concerned about fuel economy. It's more than just a math issue.

Do a search (http://forum.thedieselpage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=search;search_forum=3)for the keyword "tick". You'll find hours and hours of reading.

Some have found the gauge needles to be off a little. If some of them are way off, you might see your dealer. Tell them your Edge/Att power module indicates the gauges are reading incorrectly. :D Or better yet, have them check the gauges using a Tech II scan tool.

There will be a period of adjustment after towing as the trans re-learns the new environment. Just part of the deal.....

Try driving it STOCK for a while...

Did you figure the fudge factor for the change in tire size in your mpg calculations?

I'd also suggest changing the oil now to help flush out the assembly and break in junk...

I've found that 2 ticks below 210

Kennedy;

Thanks for the input. I knew there would be some fudge factor in the mpg rate. Not sure how much however. I have not checked out any sites that would tell me what the difference is. As far as the oil. I was going to go to follow the oil life indicator on this first oil change. Just to help w/ break-in, then go synthetic. Would you do something different? I guess as far as the temp gauge

Here is a link that will help you figure out what the "fudge factor" may be. Compares the indicated mph for actual based on tire size.

That didn't work, should be /tireMath***p

Try posting the URL (in plain text, not a link) with spaces between the extention characters.

Like this: www.website.com/page.j (http://www.website.com/page.j) s p

The filter is necessary to prevent harmful code from doing their thing.

Readers can then copy/paste/edit as necessary to get to the site. Just let them know what you did so they can undo it.

Back in 2002, we had a problem with someone posting j a v a scripts within image links. We began filtering out the dot j s characters, which is how a script ends - thus preventing the code from causing a problem.

Thanks... Jackrabbit.

I got it to work. Here is the correct address for anyone who would like to check it out.

I guess all my computer ablitities do pay off at some point. Thanks for the info. 012p is the extension. for the link. The forum site is replacing it with *. This is for protection against running code locally that maybe harmful.

0=.
1=j
2=s
I guess I have to do this in code.
