I need to get the members advice on how to proceed with my truck. I have a crew cab 1 ton 4x4 GMC 1983 model. It was a diesel and someone had put a small block in it when I bought it. It has the turbo 400 3spd auto and 205 transfer case.
I'm seeing some 6.5 turbos for sale and don't know which model I should put in. Does the mechanical fuel pump engine have a computer? How about upgrades? Is one engine less expensive to get higher HP out of than the other?
I don't tow much, but plan on a 1500-2000 pound slide in camper.
Any advice appreciated.
