21K miles and 21 MPG

Just came back from a weekend trip. 4 people and 1 large dog, truck fully loaded with stuff.

Got 21 MPG driving around 65-75. Bone stock.

Not too shabby.

Not bad! I think my truck is capable of doing that too. I doubt I will ever know for sure :( God cursed me with a lead right foot :D

That's pretty good. I was affraid that our California trucks with the EGR and CAT would not be able to get some of the good milages I've heard from others. My best is 19.5 on a trip to Mammoth. Usually get 18.5 daily driving. I'm no lead foot and usually stay 65-75mph. Couple questions: were you running your AC? 4X2 or 4X4. Thanks for the info.

I do have the camper shell. I think it really helped my gas mileage.

I've been getting this kind of mileage since mine was new. I gained about 1 mpg as it has loosened up, but that's about it. I added an Amsoil air filter last month. Jury's still out on that one. I can hear the turbo better, which I like, but if anything the mileage seems to have dipped a tad. Need a couple more tanks of fuel through it before I can say for sure. I would expect better mileage; the stock filter had the consistency of balsa wood. Turns 1 year old the 20th of this month. I have just a twitch under 18,000 perfect miles on the clock.
