Drove an '06 first impression

My first test drive of an '06 was entirely too much fun!!! This was also my first drive of the lly but the 6 speed manuel controlled allison is what really grabbed my attention. That has got to be the best of both worlds manuel and automatic. There is just something cool about punching it before you completely straighten out from a corner and feel all four back tires break loose and spin until I got out of it!!Yip there is nothing like making salesman hang on to the door handle on a test drive!! Then leaving him wipeing the drool off of the steering wheel as I drive away in 'ol whitey.

did u drive a chevy or gmc? did they change the styling (cant stand the chevy bug eyes!!) you know the front end they took off of the avalanch? at all?? is the interior the same ? that is the 350hp - 650tq duramax isnt it? thanks

Word is, the early 06 though called an LLY is actually a lbz and in winter production will grw up to be a LBZ. In other words it appears as though it is physically there, just producing numbers midway between the LLY and LBZ. Smoooth programming is the word also...

Kennedy, what does that mean, that after a while the computer on the early 06's turns up the power to the new numbers later...?????

The word is, the 06 LLY is simply a detuned LBZ. Externally LBZ, but not sure about internally...
