Tranny filter change

Just wondering what all is involved in changing the allison spin on filter. I didn't know how much fluid will drain out and what type of fluid I need to put back in. I only have 1500 miles on it, but I have seen a few posts where people recommend changing the filter within the first 1000 miles.

Try searching through the posts in the Drivetrain forum. Much has been discussed and discovered there in regards to your question. The general concensus has been to change it early, then IAW the mfg's suggestion or more frequently.
