I've been experiencing a minor problem with my Dmax, maybe some of you have an answer. Over the last couple of months whenever I start up and turn the heater/defroster on, I notice a slight coolant type odor coming in through the vents. After the truck comes up to temperature, it seems to go away! The coolant level is up to where it should be. I don't think I'm leaking fuel anywhere. It never used to do this. Anybody have any ideas?

I think you'll be seeing more of it in the future. I had one years ago that did the same thing. It had a bad solder joint in the heater core. When cold, it would leak a very small amount of coolant. As soon as it was warm (and the pressure came up) something would expand/move and seal it up. I finally pulled it apart and you could see where it was leaking. All of the others I ever repaired would get worse as the pressure came up. You could not make this one leak with a pressure tester.
And yet another reason for my lack of hair!
