I recently tried to purchase replacement oil filters from my local Chevy dealer under the PN 97214983. I was trying to get the original style filter that came on the truck (manufactured by Champion?), instead the dealer told me that the original style filter had been superceded by the AC Delco PF-2232. My question is, is this the best oil filter to use as a replacement? I'm kind of a stickler for using OEM replacement parts but, if there is something better on the market I would like to consider it.
Mark,
The manual for my truck specs the 2232 filter.
Have you looked at Kennedydiesel.com?
I bought a case of Baldwin filters from him at a very good price smile.gif
I think that as long as you stay away from Fram Oil filters, you will be ok.
AC, Wix, Napa Gold, Baldwin, are all good oil filters.
The PF 2232 is the same filter as the black Champion. After cutting them open all internals are the exact same. The only difference is the color of the paint. I personally use the Baldwin filters. I agree with DalDMax. Just stay with a good quality filter and stay away from Fram.

DITTO ON THE FRAM.
Mark Young,
VARIOUS CUT OPEN OIL FILTER COMPARISON PICTURES (http://community.webshots.com/album/61178762NfrhyW) at this link. I agree with abear's comments on the Champion and AC PF2232 oil filters. I'm using the Baldwin B1441 oil filter. Check out the FRAM oil filter pics and judge for yourself regarding dmaxalliTech's comment
The FRAM FUEL FILTER (http://community.webshots.com/album/78464371PcGaFz) appears the same as the OEM fuel filter.
