View Full Version : Hard to start / lopey idle.....Why??
Just returned from a 1200 mile trip....and upon returning noticed that my truck is cranking a long time before starting and the idle is lopey now. I'm at a loss. I've attempted to drain water from the filter (there was none) and I've refuled (about 21 gallons) and there's no difference. The truck still has the same power and no other symptoms.... Any ideas?

How old is the filter??
I replaced it two months ago. The new one has about 4000 miles on it. The truck only has 10,000 miles on it.

Hey Piney, its 402 CID, not 403...
Hi Duramax3. Maybe you have 402, but mine is 403. :D
How about 402.76 cid.
Piney, you could take it in and see if the TechII says anything. A small vacumm leak? Not sure on that one.

I would suggest priming the fuel filter before starting and see if possibly you have a small air leak causing a loss of prime.....
With any luck it's right at the fuel filter (bleeder screw or filter it self (?))...... ;)

Thanks MAC. I'll give that a try.
