View Full Version : Fuel question....GPH
Does anyone know the minimum gallons per hour that the D-max system needs? This came up over the weekend when my neighbor and I were discussing flow rate of a two micron filter. And I guess my second question would be the flow rate of the 2 micron filter as well?
Thanks
What about this...
Divide Miles/hour by Miles/Gal to get Gal/Hour.
So, for example, a hard acceleration flow rate might be
(70MPH/5MPG)=14GPH
oneton,
For what it is worth, the Maximum Flow Rate for the
my Racor 660 secondary 2 micron fuel filter is 60 GPH as per
the spec sheet.

oneton,
Sorry I couldn't find it with search but it is here on DP where lift pumps are being discussed, may need to use GPH instead of gph.
It is listed as 110 to 130 gph.

Cat 2 mic filters are about 60-70 gph also...

Nomad & Max3,
When I got the cat filter & asked abt flow rates they said normal demand with up to 350hp engine would probly be somewhere around 75-85gph & this would be fine with our suction system at 2mic level. When I asked abt our req 110 to 130 they said with the right kind of pump same setup will handle on up to 200gph, and above this need twin pack or reduce to 5mic level.
They tell us too that these filters will work with either pressure or suction systems but bare down on them it will come out they do best under pressure in all the cat applications.
Anyone using or considering a cat filter need to also pay a visit to their lab.
Thnx, Gben

The maximum rated fuel flow through the DMAX OEM filter is 48 gph.
