View Full Version : pre-cups ?
what is the difference between all the different pre-combustion chambers ?
GM lists several for the 6.2, for the 6.5 NA and 6.5 turbo.
thanks in advance
Some are designed for power and others for fuel economy. Can't have both!
fair enough, but other than knowing what engine they are out of, is there a reference to the codes on them ?
thanks
No reference that I am aware of, but the "T" cups may well be the best solution.
I put some bigger yet in my '96, but no telling what the real benefit was...

Kennedy,
What are the "T" cups you talk about are they just the turbocharged cups? Where would a person find ones that are even bigger?

Does anyone have a picture of what these are? Looked in the member section in the 6.2/6.5 head article but there were no pictures of this. Maybe a schematic drawing of a diesel head? I'm trying to imagine what a T-cup is for the combustion chamber. Not knowing much about diesels as never having torn one down, are these replaceable? I just sort of thought we had a hole in the head where the injector screwed in and a hole below the injector for the glow plug? Probably what GM thought too with the Olds gas conversion....
