one of the newbie's back--can someone explain what de-fueling is and what does it feel like-- stock 03 hd2500 dmax

Depends on what de-fueling you're asking about. Most de-fueling that is being talked about is a reduction in fuel to the engine just before and during an upshift of the transmission. It feels like you pulled you foot off of the gas pedal for half a second or so. Some of the power boxes does this better then others. If there was no de-fueling between shifts, the transmission wouldn't last very long.
