allison won't go into gear

search feature did not help me here. My son just bought an 01 D/A which he parks in his driveway which is sloped for 2-3 weeks at a time. Upon startup, the allison will not go into gear. he rolled the truck down to the level street and after a few minutes all was fine with the tranny. Was this a problem with the 01s? Did GM come up with a fix?

its a common problem with the allison 5 speeds.... well its not really a problem just something to keep in mind! just start the truck up more often drop it into gear and drive it more often! make sure the fluid level is full . you will not have any problems, my buddy has a fleet of school buses that do the same thing evey time they sit for more then a week....
