View Full Version : 1100 miles on truck and SES light came on
I was driving home yesterday and the Service Engine Soon light came on.
Plugged in Autotap and found that the code was:
P0181 Fuel Temp. Sensor 1 Circuit Performance
I reset the code and the light went out in the dash. I went for a 30 minute drive and the light never came back on.
Should I worry about this?

I had the same problem. Truck appears to be running fine, and the dealer can't figure it out.
Tthere is a software update to address this. Simply put, have the ECM programming updated at the dealer, and ask him while he is in there to do the TCM as well. Should be part of a "customer satisfaction" campaign.
This is not a problem that can't be resolved easily. When you use your block heater and then you run your truck. The fuel temp sensor says the fuel is cold and the engine is hot, it must be something wrong. There is not. It is just a bug that has not been fixed yet. Just run it and the light will go out until you use your block heater again. This is a post that gets posted every winter.
