engine oil change message

Just changed the engine oil in my '02 Duramax. About 1700 miles since filter change and now each time I start,I'm getting "change engine oil" message.Oil pressure shows good. Can anyone who has had this experience give me a suggestion or cure.

Turn your ign key to "on". Do not start engine. Push the throttle pedal all the way to the floor and back 4 times within 5 seconds. This will clear the light. It will be back in about 7500 miles or so,

The reset procedure is in the owners manual.

Here is a summary:


1. Turn the ignition key to RUN with the engine off.
2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three
times within five seconds.

If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message flashes for
five seconds, the system is reset.

Thanks for the fast reply. Went straight to the truck used the method JackMchome wrote and message cleared.
