Problem with ECM?

Tonight i hooked the auto-tap up and went to drive the truck.I was going to record it while i driving but ran into a problem. When i was going down the road the gauges all went down "but returned" and the truck quit making power. It was a pig. It would not make boost until 2000 rpm and the security light came on in the information window. When it did the ECM quit communicating with the lap-top. I stopped unhooked the batteries and reset the ECM and tried again, worked for a minute and did the same thing again. We know it wasnt the lap top cause we hooked it up to anohter car to be sure. The truck is not what it was. Could something have happened to the ECM while doing this?
