has anyone tried the performance mass sen.?
Why? Ours poses virtually no restriction whatsoever. My guess (unless there is some funky electronics in them) is that the mfr isn't familiar with our trucks, and that they think that we have the honeycomb type sensor like gassers do. The parts disc shows a divorced sensor like the gassers vs a small air box mounted sensor like we really have...

Paste:
Granatelli Motorsports Mass Air Flow Sensor (350115/350120) for the following
applications:
1999-2003
GM Full Size Truck/SUV w/ 4.3
1999-2003 GM LS1
Truck/SUV w/ 4.8
1999-2003
GM LS1 Truck/SUV w/ 5.3
1999-2003
GM LS1 Truck/SUV w/ 6.0
1999-2003
GM LS1 Truck/SUV w/ 8.1
2000-01
Duramax Diesel (w/o integrated air box)
2003
Hummer H2 w/362 ci engine
My take would be that the Duramax does have the intergrated air box as they are referring. The 8.1 has it inserted in the air stream between the box and the tube. I also think thet the 8.1 has the honeycomb style which definitely could be a restriction.
