Put a DSG power box in my truck and I'm wondering if it will shorten the life of my engine? The extra power is cool but will I damage anything?

Sure, anything you do to increase power could have an impact on engine longevity at the end of its useful life.... The real question is to what degree...

Keep the EGT's reasonable, service it when necessary and you'll not likely see a difference.
