Thanks in advance for the advice.

I am lookin at a 04, Crew, short bed 4x4 2500HD.

Very well loaded. Power tow mirrors, on star, power buckets, the heavy duty tow, with the locking rearend, ect.

Sticker before any rebate is 46,896.
1k back for the heavy tow package

I can get it for 44,500.00 out the door. with 0% financing.

What do you guys think?

You'll have to check with someone who's been shopping lately, but there has been mention of MANY discounts (ending soon, but you never know about what is around the corner) avail. Some were talking well below 40k for a truck of that listing.

$2500 rebate
$1000 Dmax
????

I did not see the sticker, but a buddy just bought one (crew D/A) for about $34-35k at the close of 2003 AND he got a decent (by current market) trade on his 1996 Z71 gasser...

As stated above, the MSRP on the truck I want to order is $46896.00 before and rebates or discounts.

I was hoping to get out the door for 40 or 41k. Am I dreaming???

What is your opinion on getting a used 02 with 30k miles for bout $30k. I will then be out the door at about 34k.

What about possible problems with the 02 and injectors. I read a lot on here, dont post much at all.

Now I am ready to move up to the Dmax, but which one? 02,04? How much to spend. I highly respect all the info you guys supply. Thanks for the help.

My sisters father-in-law has a 02 D/A CC SB LT with 17K miles that he is trying to sell.. He wants $30K for it. It's a beautiful truck white with tan leather. Has all the Mouldings/fender flares/door handles painted white looks very sharp. I realize it's a long way to TX but it might be worth it. He wants to sell it so he can get a new one.

Can you send pics to me?

dan@saberemail.com

And a list of what it has. Like bench or buckets, tow mirrors, ect.
I am interested if I do not get a new one. Very interested.

It is an LT with heated leather bucket seats and memory package. Has regular power mirrors, onstar, it is hard loaded. He also put some running boards on it that look like the one's on a suburban but are lighted. I will give him a call and see if he can get some pics of it. He'll probably want to clean it up first though.

My cousin just bought an 04 in December from Karl Tyler in Missoula MT (406-721-2438) or ( www.karltylerchevrolet.com (http://www.karltylerchevrolet.com) ) and paid $35,400.00 for a crew cab long box with everything but leather, on-star and XM...I am sure you could do much better.

Cheers

I purchased my Duramax/Allison just a year ago .... bought an '03 on 12/39/02. The dealer was anxious to move. LT crew cab, short bed 4 x 4.... stickered at $44k, he dropped to $37K and walked out with the truck, tax, title and dealer prep for $34K. Think you might to better.

Friend just bought one like you described, listed right at $47000, bought for $39500 with $3000 GM discount and interest of 3.9% for 48 months. He did not trade and kept his Ferd P/S. But this is in TX., not Kalifornia.

you might even check other places, such as costco. they can negotiate several hundred over invoice last I checked.

I just ordered an 04 dmax allison LT LOADED - just about every option - Msrp was 45,348.00 - 39,900.00 ( Invoice ?)
They offered me 23k for my trade, But I'll probably try to sell it privately in the local paper. With the 0% my payment will drop - Incidently I paid 39500.00 for my 01 - & the 04 has more Stuff.... I'm sure you could do better ..

Used vehicles are hard to sell these days. If the dealer is close, you might be better to dump it. Especially if you include sales tax (if your state has it) you won't have to pay after your trade in. For example, I traded in $12.5K and it saved me $1600 in sales tax. I would have spent probably 3 months selling my vehicle to get $14.1K.

To me a lot of those prices seem high. I got an '03 shortbox extended cab loaded - with a sticker of $43,000 out the door for $34,000. At the time there was a $5000 rebate, $1000 -DMax/Alli rebate and a $1000 customer loyalty rebate. But I don't know if we'll see rebates like that again. Rebates were so good my wife bought a trailblazer the same.

(I knew I shouldn't have left her alone while I was signing papers - damit!)

Just bought an 04 Duramax CC 4x4 D/A LS with leather in the Dallas area. Sticker was 46,008 (including $1,000 power package rebate). Walked out the door with TTL for $39,352 with 0 down and 0% financing for 60 months (only in America). Had $1,000 cash back plus $2200 GM card. Dealer's that would sell at invoice were VERY EASY to find around here.

One of the reasons you might be finding such pricing varances is that as I understand that Car makers normally change pricing at the begining of the model year. Last year 2004 some Makers had as many as 7 price INCREASES durring the year to offset the "loses" on the 0% financing and big Rebates. So on a DuraBux truck at the begining of the Model year and the end there might be about $3,000 difference between both MSRP and invoice of two identical trucks. Just a thought.
