after waiting which it felt like a month, it finally came today, my gtech, so after the wife got off of work i got to play, my duramax has a aux tank full of fuel and toolbox with tools in, and weights in tonight on a goverment scale at 7812 pounds, with out me in, coniditons were 2300ft above sea level, minus 23degress celceus(colder then hell), dewpoint not sure, i tried 5 times, much better with four wheel drive engaged, but still some slipage, my average times are

0-60 in 6.28seconds
1/4 mile in 14.79 seconds at 95.2mph
keep in mind truck weight of 7812lbs

now after that i came home and tried my wifes 2002 grandpre 3.8liter supercharged, not sure what the weight is but a lot less, i went to the same level location for the test, had a lot of slipage off the start, tried different ways but always the same times about, they are

0-60 in 6.21seconds
1/4 mile in 14.80seconds at 100.5 mph
i think times might be a little better if conditions were not so cold(better traction)

conclusion: truck is as fast or faster then the wifes 240hp car, and miliage is the same or a bit better(26.6 mpg(imperial gallons) on my last test)i wish i had this gtech years ago, highly recomend it, fred :D :D :D

Those quarter mile times for the GP seem a little fast... I could only manage 14.9@95 in stock trim.

Assuming you weigh around 200lbs, you're making about 540rwhp. You really got your money's worth! Seriously though, the G-Tech always measures high for a trap speed (about 3mph). It's also very affected by any unevenness in your 1/4 mile track. It's very good for measuring incremental improvements. Ever checked your EGT's?

Fredster, good G-Tech info...But I need Passport vs. V1 info ! You wouldn't want me to spend money on the "inferior" detector would you ? lol...Damn dude, it's freakin COLD up there ! :(

thanks for that website fatboy, lots of great info, as for the grandprix times, they do look close to the average for a stock car, higher end speed due to a lot of spinning off the start i think

kevenk: as for the rwhp that does not sound to accuarate, do not know why, i am 200lbs, the road i tested it on is a even and feels level road, as for my egts, i do not have gauges yet

toddster: have not came up with a official view yet, had a problem with the passport and had to be returned, but the two look very simular

gtech makes it great..........110 numbers fairly close to hot juice problably close enough that the differences in launch........would dictate the winner.......good post...........toddster.........V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1 V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1 V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V1V :D DAVE

as for gtech times: i bought the gtech pro compition as well lately for the download abilty, the other day i tried both out at the same time, did 3 runs, the compition on each run was .3 of a second slower than the pro, but times were always the same difference, will try to compare both to track times and let you know :D

> Seriously though, the G-Tech always measures
> high for a trap speed (about 3mph).

It does this because it actually measures "true" 1/4 mph, whereas a track takes the last 60 foot and calculates the "average" mph, hence why the track's #'s will always read lower than a G-Tech, or a 5th wheel measuring style device, such as the one C&D or MT uses.

Sincerely...
