I got the Autometer EGT and Boost wiring hooked up today. Also painted the Autometer Gauge Works pod. Will let pod dry over night. The instructions with the pod says. "gauges are push in". Do yall with this setup agree that they will fit snug enough in the pod without securing them?

I also found a neat fuse tap in my electronics box that I got with some car audio stuff. Its designed a little different and doesn't waller out the socket in the fuse box. I haven't been able to find anymore though.

There is some pics of it in My Duramax album.

I will post some more pics tomorrow of the Autometer C2 gauges. They look pretty neat.

My Autometer gauges are very snug. I have had no problems at all.

David - I use the Fusetaps and find them at my local PepBoys (not sure if they are a national chain). The gauge is very snug in the press fit pod.

My Autometer gauges fit very snug also. No need for brackets. In fact I could not get the brackets on in the pod mount. No problems though with the gauges.

Ok I posted some more pics of the gauges. The paint that Sherwin Williams sold me sure is soft. I may have to go back to a automotive store and find some dedicated plastic paint.

The C2 gauges may be a little bright at night for some people. I hooked into the white/brown lighting wire on the dimming wheel, and have to dim the dash almost black to keep the gauges from blinding me. I will probably install a "pot" in the illum line to the gauges that way I can dim them more and keep the dash where I like it.

Other than that personal preferance these gauges are SWEET. I see 0-5 psi puttering around city streets. 10-15 psi getting after it on a on ramp. 15-23 psi when I am really "up on the wheel" as Darrell Waltrip says. Exhaust seems to be 300 or so hot idle; 400 idle with ac on, 400-600 around town, 450-500 empty cruise on highway.

I got the gauges and pod from Jegs.

Don't think I am nuts for asking, but does your truck have a catalyst? It will be right behind the torsion bar X-member if it does...

David,

I like the looks of your gauges. :D

What was the PN for your gauge set? Did you buy them as a set, or as seperate componets?

Thanx for the info

I have always had good luck with Jegs.

Autometer Cobalt C-2 pyro. 105-7144

C-2 boost gauge 0-30 105-7160

1999-03 duel mount. 105-17104

I was a little low on my first numbers. 800 or so taking off from a stop light, 600-650 on the highway empty.
