View Full Version : Heh,heh,heh no speed limiter!

Last night on the way home from dinner,we were cruising along I-95 with the designated driver..er I mean wife driving.We were doin' about 70 when a white '02 2500HD pulls up next to us & started nailing it then backing off,did this several times.Looked at the wife & she had that look on her face,the one I don't like to see.I told her the next time the guy nailed it for her to nail it. When he nailed it so did she,only thing is the alli was in one of its lazy modes,no down shift.We finaly got motivatin'& caught him about the time he hit his speed limiter,when we went blastin' by him he was all hunkered over the wheel tryin'to make it go faster.When wife slowed down & quite shaking,I asked her how fast we were going she said over 110.If thats true then thats around 3200 w/stock tires,not a whole lot left. I'm not sure what the other truck had,a 6.0 or a 8.1,but it had a good sounding exhaust.I have the Preditor set on 85 hp.

he hit his speed limiter,when we went blastin' by him he was all hunkered over the wheel tryin'to make it go faster He wasn't leaning over the wheel to go faster, if you ever hit that speed limiter that is where it puts you, right into the steering wheel, Ha... Happens to me all the time.

Hey Brokers; I never said it was quick or fast I just said we went faster than the other guy.And you are wright it is a diesel truck thats why I posted on the Diesel Page and not Vetts R Us.Have a great night sport.

Brokers, if your wife drives and you give David 200ft lead, I'll take David for a Dime. On paper it looks like 211ft lead. However, I bet that a 100ft lead will still give the EDGE to David.

I hope you are pulling everyones elses legs because mine are long enough :rolleyes:
If you are truly turning a 10.79 1/4 than you have more than just Corsa Exhaust and stock Goodyear SC's.
I've seen high 11.0's on a GOOD day with NOS and several other mods. from a Z06. 10.79 is a few fractions of a second slower than a heavly modified John Lingenfelter Corvette.
NOT meaning to call you out here but what all does your Z have to turn a sub 10??

Okay with the speed runs, I want to know how to remove the 95 MPH limiter on my '03 duramax! And anytime anyone wants to play fast come to Wisconsin and taunt me in my 1997 Porsche 911/993 TT C-4. It has the GT-2 mods and then some it will run fast, quick and stop fast too. Now back to the speed limiter! How does one remove it from the '03 Duramax???? I really would like to know!

I used the Predator to raise the speed limiter to 125mph in my truck. Not sure if there are any other options yet besides the reflash route.
FWIW, I've seen 111mph with the speedo limit raised. That seemed to be nearing the end for mph, but the boss was getting upset. Had to use the Tech 2 to read (so of course she knew how fast we were going) as the early speedos stop at 100 mph. I definitely think I can feel a bump at 95ish where the speed limiter was, but have not yet snap shot or dyno'd this.
I do not make a habit of this, nor recommend it. I just did it to test, and since we were cruising at 80mph+ acrross MT, it was just a matter of seconds for the Hot Juice to get us there! :D

I thought the 02's had a slightly higher rev limit that's why they get the 125 limit ,and the 01's get 110 ???
