Just for giggles, I ran my truck (see sig) across the truck scale here at work.

Front Axle - 3700# even

Total Weight - 6970#

With me, ~100# worth of assorted crap in the bed, and a full bag o' fuel.

I did put a couple of extra coats of green paint on the enigine. That would explain the high front weight reading!

My Suburban weighs over 6700 lb. with a full load of fuel, minus me.

My 96 SW LB CC was 6600, 4200 on the FA and 2400 on the rear. ALtho typically about 7200 lbs with the toolbox and rack on it!

My new rig is 7400 empty, ie a CC LB DW 4x with a D/A. 4400 on the FA, and 3000 on the rear.

HEHEHE !! I know, MR 3500- I read your sig. From what I have been told from a friend who worked for GM, the only reason they put the 6.5 in the 1500 was to help their overall mileage ratings with the feds in the years they did it. I wish mine was 3/4 ton, but it is nice having the lighter truck when not towing, I just have to make sure the weight is on the trailer right, and the trailer has brakes. I gooseneck pull my 1983 mud truck on a three axle trailer and the truck does great.
PS- When I do drink beer, it is light beer- no sense sucking down excess calories there ! Save that for Jack D !!

I've weighted my 97 K3500 CC SRW a couple of times empty.

Once no spare, tailgate, fuel less than 1/2 and no extra tools = 6400lbs

Second time just as I drive it normally (fuel level I don't remember) = +6900lbs (very close to 7K)

I was surprised on the difference.

I do know that I switched to load range E tire, but the same size.

I feel like the overweight one here... My '93 ext cab, long bed, 4x4, 2500 pickup full of tools and junk weights in at just under 7500 lbs! Now that I've got all my crap transfered to the new one (same thing but an '01) it is over 7300 lbs... Both are with a full tank of fuel and without driver.

I put my truck on the scale once with a load of water in the bed, I WILL NOT admit how heavy it was....but lets just say the GM GVW of 7700 for my C-2500 was not passed by wee bit. Once I subtracted tank and water I came up with about 5500 lbs. But I will admit that I was not endanger of exceeding the E rated tire rating.

And Tim before you come up with a light beer remark, I don't drink much beer and I consider Jack rot gut......I prefer Makers Mark. Smooth. tongue.gif

16 ga, Kentuckians thank you for your taste in whiskey. Next time you are looking for something different, try Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey. It is made in my home county about 5 miles from my house.

Makers Mark is Good stuff.

Crown Royal Special Reserve! aint enough 'O's in Smooth for it.

Also, Buffalo Trace is pretty good. Not worth a damn as a mixer, but great for sipping.

Mine weighed in at about 6940 (tare) at the dump, with my normal load of crap that's been in there so long, I forget what's in the storage box. But it must be critical, or it wouldn't be in there...

Evan Williams for me. A Sour Mash - smoother than Jack's.

I'll look for Woodford Reserve, here in Montana we don't get a very good selection of ........about anything since we live in such a small population and rathr issolated from major population centers. But we have great fishing, hunting, scenery.....and wide open spaces.

Tom, there are a number of empty Evan Williams bottles that has my name on it. But then I found Makers Mark and I'm hooked CR Reserve is great stuff too, I tried some stuff called Pendelton that is very simular to Crown when I was in Washington last month.

I am not at the liberty to divulge my SR connection, and honestly I am not sure how the buffalo trace showed up. Someone brought a fifth to a party, and it wound up in my bag when we left. I have not seen in before or since, so I am not sure even how to get more.

BTW, I just noticed that Cowracer and Crown Royal have the same initials (as does Canadian Rigger).

Co-incendence? Or a web based Freudian slip?
Hmmmmm

I scaled on Cat scales at a truckstop. Full fuel, 24 foot tag trailer loaded for a weekend of racing. 14940 pounds. I've got no idea of GCVW for my 95 truck. 4X4 3/4 extended cab, any one know for sure?

Axle weights were 3440 steering, 4080 drive, 7420 trailer.
