I took my truck to our local dragstrip today and ran it on a Mustang Dynamometer. I am not sure how accurate it is but I know I was a little disappointed.
The maximun hp at the wheels was 203.5 @3250 rpm.
The maximum torque was 363.2 @ 2500 rpm.
This dyno has a 2000 lb wieght that spins and also has a unit that looks like generator and uses eddy currents to apply the load. The run was started in forth gear, idling and then I put it to the floor. The rpms then climbed to 3700 at which time I let off on it. It seems that the torque would be higher if the load was started at 3700 and then the dyno would drag the engine down. I know most diesels have maximum torque around 1800 rpms but my truck did not start to build boost until around 1800 rpm.
