This was my first time at drag racing, so excuse my slow reaction times. The first run was stock. Only an Amsoil air filter and oil. Both runs were with T/H off. Air temp was a beautiful 78 degrees.

1st run:

Reaction....1.297
60ft........2.757
330ft.......7.452
ET@594ft...10.575
1/8 ET.....11.280
1/8 MPH....63.84
1/4 ET.....17.386
1/4 MPH....78.96

2nd run with Juice box added on #4 setting. It was very sluggish between shifts but pulled very hard:

Reaction....1.316
60ft........2.355
330ft.......6.520
ET@594ft....9.293
1/8 ET......9.909
1/8 MPH....73.05
1/4 ET.....15.388
1/4 MPH....88.74

I picked up 2 seconds and 10 MPH. WOW!!!!! This box rocks. No EGT gauge in at this time. I took it off again for the drive home. I would probably have been over 90 MPH and under 15 sec. if my reaction wasn't so slow. But atleast they were consistent for a good comparison. Let me know what you guys think.

Lots of pics posted in my link.

What do I think ......... Assume about sums it up ......... Pretty dam good for your first time ..... A couple things. Did you spool up at Christmas light? I think (so I've been told) T/H gives quicker times ..... Just wondering also why did you take it off? I think that if you would leave it on, the tranny would get more aquatinted with the added power, and shift more "SILKIER." ... Just some ideas ....... Nice PICS, off them burnout's ....... Just one thing that p**sed me off, your up in ALASKA and it was a nicer warmer day then I had to be in CT .......... Pouring rain most of mourning, wind blowing, if its 55 out I'm exaggerating ....... LOL
Any way thanks for PICS and info, much appreciated .

A 15.3 is a great time for the truck. Should the #1 pass read 17.386 instead of 71.386? :D

Tip.... your reaction time doesn't affect your ET in any manner. The ET timer doesn't start until your truck leaves the line. You could sit at a green light for 30 seconds (reaction time) and still run a 15 second ET. :D

Do you know the elevation/altitude of the track?

Hey Maverick, good pics you have there. I`ve been trying to find an under seat storage box like yours but can`t find a dealer who knows a thing about them. I even had a P/N but they couldn`t find it in the computer. Can you help ???? 2002 Chevy HD D/A LT Extcab 4x4, Bestop mirrors,Luverne boards,KN filter, Dynomax 4" exhaust.

Mackin,
I spooled up to about 1500 on each run. I figured since the Juice makes most of its hp in lower rpm, i would leave t/h off and not let it rev in gear longer. Maybe it makes no difference under full throttle. Don't know. It was fun anyway. I had to laugh at some of the Ford Mustangs (00' and 01's) were only running low 16's and high 15's at 85mph. Geez, my Mustang got smoked by a diesel pickup. HA HA HA.

Thanks Derek M, I fixed my error. See, I didn't know about this ET stuff. I am a rookie. The track is pretty close to sea level.

Jomar,
Check at Tony Chevrolet, Anchorage, Alaska (907)365-8677 or (888)805-8677. I heard the price went up. You don't wanna know how much.

Thanks Albee :D

Let me see if I got this right.

Absolutely gorgeous weather. Beautiful views.

Lightweight railers and amatuer car buffs all over the place with their Camaro's, Chevelle's and such.

And there's some guy out there with what looks like a one-ton utility flatbed diesel pick-up crankin' out low 15's.

What?

I love it. Xlnt pics and post.

Maverick,
Excellent pictures. Nice view, Looks good. I would have to say the air was probably good.
Nice Picture of a 1 ton doing a burn out.

Keep it up. I have been considering the Juice Box, Transfer flow tank first.

Maverick, Last time I saw your truck it was hooked up to a massive trailer and now I see it on the strip burnin rubber! I don't have my guages yet either but could not wait to try out the box. Seems even better than the test drive... WOW! I only ran it a while just outside of town and the tranny was real goofy. Tried the 50mph shift to first 3 times thing and it did get a bit better after running it a while. Question is, did your truck feel like it was surging a bit as it was pulling a gear? The shifts definately were not smooth but also felt funny in each gear.

Maverick

The surging effect is me getting pushed into my seat from the massive acceleration. Really though I only used it twice and this last time at the strip it did shift slow then take off like a raped ape. It didn't seem to shift as smooth as the box I tried from Kennedy. I am not 23,000 lbs and going up hills either like when I tried JK's box. Time will tell when JK sends me the gauges and I get them in. Then we'll see how the Juice does in everyday work(towing).

Nice times, Maverick! What did your truck weigh when you ran at the strip?

Maverick

7300lbs with my fat a$$ in it and a full tank of fuel. tongue.gif I had 1/3 tank for this run.

Maverick, pretty impressive to see a truck like yours burning rubber, but I was wondering if you launched in FWD, Tow Haul, quarter tank of fuel, would you have lowered your ETs any? FWD might have reduced wheel spin and launched sooner. Just wondering.

Maverick

It was in 2wd, T/H off, and 1/3 tank of fuel. Wheel spin wasn't really an issue. It did stick pretty good.

Capt. Tom,
Send me an E-mail and I'll give you my #. Fish on!!!!. Got mine from Advance Diesel Sevices in Anchorage, AK. Ask for Jeff (907)278-1999 He sells them for $698. He is out now but is getting more.

Pullinpower,
I will run it again when my gauges get here from Kennedy. Hopfully soon. Darn pillar pod is hard to find. I think it will get better after the tranny figures out what to do. I lost alot of time between shifts. :D

Maverick,

I had the pleasure of visiting the great State of Alaska last July,01. I was up to Denali, down to Anchorage, fished the Kenai, and checked out Soldotna and chartered a Halibut Boat out of Ninilnicheck. Awsome fishing, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. You sure are lucky to live there. I would like to get the family out there soon. I remember it being light till after 10:00 pm and it never really got dark.

Great runs on the DMAX. Pretty impressive when Fords flagship car the Mustang has trouble hangin' with a "JUICED" Dmax!!!!!!
