My "water in fuel" message appear when cornering or braking hard the truck is runing fine. I have tried fuel conditioner and a new filter. Is this a faultiy water sensor?

Sounds like a bad sensor. We've seen several of these issues in recent history.
Before replacing it, be sure it is the sensor that's bad. Disconnect it and drive. If the light still comes on under the same conditions, you may have a wiring issue elsewhere. If it stops, then it is likely the sensor. Try removing it and make sure the float can move freely up and down. If something is causing it to hang up somehow, it could cause an intermittent light.

Is this the sensor located under the fuel filter? Or is there another sensor located in the tank?

It's the plastic thing at the bottom of the filter, with the wire going to it. There are no other water sensors.
Who sells the sensor and what is the part number? I can't seem to find one listed in any gm parts list on various websites. Will I have to get it at the dealer?
Thanks....
