01 Duramax 6600 value

Hello,

I am a new member to the forum and have a quick question on a used PU.

I am looking at a 01 3500 ext cab 4X4 w/Duramax 6.6 LT with the automatic and a goose neck hitch in the box. The truck is in nice shape with 62K miles he is asking 24.5 for it. I am told it was owned by a farmer who pull a horse trailer some and a camper down south in the winter. I am going to run a warranty check on it to see what work has been done. I am a little worried about the injector problems these eariler engines seem to have but I understand it has 100K warranty on it also. What so I look for when I test drive the truck I will be able to keep it a couple days so I can put in my shop and give it a good looking over.

Sounds like a fair deal, Look at all the fluids, I would check for oil leaks and look at the inside of the airbox for debris. Look at the brakes, batteries. How does it start when its cold? Did the owner(s) keep maintenance records?

Don't automatically assume that all "early" Dmax's have injector problems :rolleyes:

just traded in a hd 2500 with 75000 miles on it ...NOT a hint of injector problems! good solid truck Make sure you look under it for signs of oil changes and front end lube..... I got a new 2004 lly to replace the 01
