Just got a new "03" GMC D/A 3 weeks ago and have been lurking around this site. It was the first "03" sold in town and it was purchased after a search for an "02" that brought up no results that I was looking for. The saleman took me by the storage lot while test driving a "02" big block gas and there it was. Perfect. Right color inside and out, extended cab, long box! And of course the the big D! Well anyway just thought I would say howdy and look forward to all the great ideas and expeariances I have been reading here.
Welcome, and wipe that silly grin off your face. God knows I am still smiling and I had the truck for nearly 5 months now :D
Is this same ChopperBill that does Polaris parts?

Same ole Chopper except the Polaris dealer closed up and now I am part time in another job and servicing and repairing ATV's on the side.

Chopper as in Chopper City?? If so, I've heard stories about you from a guy we both know... :D
Welcome ChopperBill,
Good luck with your new GMC. I see you you went with the prettier of the 2, Chevy is a bit too ugly for my taste in the '03 version.
Since you are now the resident Polaris guru, any suggestions on making my SP500HO move a bit better. I would like to be able to lift the front end with out having to get a jack out ;)

Welcome, ChopperBill!
I agree that you chose the better looking of the two. If I ever trade for another DMAX, it'll be for the GMC...ya won't catch me dead in one of those butt-ugly new Chevy's (geez, what were they THINKING???   )
Enjoy your new truck!

http://www.partsland.com/ Piullinpower this is about the best place to go for Polaris parts. The dealers around here wont give me a deal. The local dealer dosnt add to the list like most do but never has anything in stock. Stretch: my opinion is to leave the 500HO stock except for some cluthc weights or springs. I have found messing with them to much always is a trade off some where down the line. Dont forget you may be miles from anywhere when that performance enhancment might leave you stranded.
Thanks for the welcome guys. Hope to learn a lot from posting.
Stretch,
Would you believe my 500HO is still STOCK except for the EPI clutch Kit and snorkeled water pump vent/overflow line?
TIRES also will help wheelie in Low. High just won't do it...

Enjoy the new truck and welcome to the cool site.
Thanks ChopperBill and JK, I guess I should leave well enough alone. Sure would be depressing to get stuck in the middle of the woods and have to get towed in... :(

Bobcat,
I'd have thought you'd run a better filter than that on your SP!
May have a Dmax contingency going north to Minocqua area on ATV's this weekend....

Welcome ChopperBill,
Post some PICS of that fine new truck. I must compliment you on your choice of brands. GMC is prettier IMHO.
Good Luck and enjoy.

Welcome chopper..
And WRONG Paintdude... REAL MEN only need 4 wheels... Not 6. :D
Chopper.... you dont thing the K&N carb kit helps out? I put one on my 96 500 SP along with a utility replacement muffler, and it now SMOKES my 500HO. If this is just perception, then fine. But it SURE seems faster....
Pullinpower.. you still have your SP?? I thought you went Rice Burner? :D

Kennedy, what do you mean I should have put a better filter on my Sportsman?
Just replacing the filter woke my whole machine up!
It was "scary" to ride again  after I replaced the filter, it made a HUGE difference,
Are you saying Amsoil is better?
Do they make a filter for Polaris 4x4's?
