Speed-o Cal

When my dealer reselected the tire size in the computer he told me it would make the speed-o right. I have read in the forum here that some of you guys and gals are having to buy after market devices to calibrate speed-o... Is the dealer wrong or what. In the computer there are different tire size's to choose from. Mine is set to 265/75r16 and appears to be right. Thanks in advance...

I immediately replaced the 245x16s my truck had with 265x16s, then had the dealer recalibrate. I had to fuss with him a little, as he wasn'r sure there was a calibration for 265s. I asked him how could GM offer 265s as an option without having a speedo calibration for them.

My speedo seems to be just right. I think the dealers only have calibrations for 245s and 265s. 285s and larger probably need an aftermarket calibration.
