Just a general question has anyone seen any 2003 GMC One Tons, CC Duramax/Allison on any dealers lots. reason for question I have had a one ton on order now for what seems like ever and still no TPW information. any help appreciated
The projected startup date for Sierra's was 7/22/02. They should be showing up anytime now. Does your dealer have an allotment for your truck w/ D/A? My Silverado 2500 HD D/A CC SWB TPW was changed from 8/5 to 8/26.

Thanks!! The dealer assures me he has an allocation for a GMC Sierra 3500 CC D/A but I am starting to wonder how much is B/S or fact! I ordered the GMC cause I'm not a fan of the new Chevy look
Can anyone point me in the direction to a picture of this 03 ? I have yet to see one.
Good job!!! I wouldn't go with the Chevy either.

 Boned by dealer  After waiting since April and being assured by Sales idiot that he has an allocation I called today and confornted him with the fact that you guys and gals have been seeing them on the lots already!! He then informed that he in fact didn't have an allocation  He also stated that the way it works is the dealer puts in an order and has to wait for GM to give that dealer an allocation I think from the information I have gotten here that this is a bunch of BS. Boy I like the truck but if GM treats me like this while trying to buy what can I look forward to when it comes to repairs and service  thanks for letting me vent hope it works out but probally not with this blank blank dealer

rvforfun,
When I ordered my D/A in Oct. 2001 my dealer had an allocation for an Extended Cab. They put the order in as Crew Cab anyway and called the zone rep. The zone rep had to wrangle for 6 weeks to get the ex. cab switched out for a crew cab, so they told me.
My order was accepted just before Xmas with a TPW of 2/19/2002. I saw the truck at the dealer on 2/07/2002 and took delivery on 2/15/2002.
I don't understand if body style and drivetrain are under one allocation or not. I do know that some things like color can be switched even after an order is accepted but not built.
Find a dealer with one in "THE PIPE" and switch some stuff.
Good Luck.
BTW in my dealers lot is a Black, D/A, Crew - 4x4 SLE. lot's of good equipment. Stickered around $41,500 - $42,000.
email me for the info if interested.

GMC ;)
What's with the stipulation of allocations? Is it still, in the 3 RD year of production, because of Duramax engine availability? You would think that in 3 yrs they would have got it straightened out production and pump out some units......Hang in there rvforfun .I all most didn't and I would have been Pi$$ed if I didn't......I waited along time for my 01.....Was turning in a lease and drove it for 4 months at no expense to me because the dealer screwed up......The dealer is at fault for miss leading you.......Go some where else if they won't make good on it .....They did in my case...Free driving in a 98 Dualie till it showed up and dealer invoice on a 01 D-Max.........

The dealer allocation really has nothing to do with an "ordered" truck, dealer orders take precedent over alocation...alocation is based on how many cars or trucks they sell in any given month, if they only sell one a month then they only get one per month and so on...most dealers will try to do a dealer trade for a like vehicle however most will not trade the D/A CC since GM keeps these trucks in short supply to keep the price up...good luck

Hey! Thanks for hearing me out!!I talked to GM Customer Care and they talked to Dealer about what happened and the dealer fessed up to telling me he had an alocation and in reality he didn't. So Customer Care is bring in the regional Manager?? to see if another dealership has aone in the pipe and can mod to my specs and still get it within the next 6 weeks. I Don't know but they said they will let me know what is going on this coming Wed. Still hoping to have it to start out my retirement with a new bang!!
Thanks again :D Still like a kid waiting for Christmas! But what a pain

There is about 7 of them sitting in the lot at the dealer near my place. They Changed the grille on both chevy's and gmc's and in my opinion, i wish they never have!!!

I gotta say... After telling everyone at work that the '03 chevys are rumored to be ugly, I should have looked at them before saying that. I just now checked out the pictures on www.gm-trucks.com and as picky as I am... I'm shocked that I actually LIKE the front end styling! Granted, I might have a different opinion when I seem them in person, but it don't look bad at all! Everyone's different I guess.
