View Full Version : Fuel Filter Cutter
Okays guys, I`ve seen all these filters cut open so what do you use and where can I get one. Matco has one ,but can`t catch the salesman, Snap-on has also but can`t find out what size it will cut.
None of the parts stores I have checked have one. Other companies, Sears, Mactools, Proto, Cornwell, don`t have them, so what`s next????

Jomar, Try the search function. There was a lot posted here a few months back. I only wanted to cut a couple open so I used my saws-all with a fine tooth blade. I hit the paper just a little in a couple places but not enough to hurt it. Later! Frank
Jomar,
I've tried three different brands of filter cutters, and IMHO feel the TAVIA 8340 (http://www.tavia.com/cat13.html#3) is the best overall. It is a quality tool and can be found for ~$70. The Tavia can handle filters up to 5.5" - which for the Dmax -includes the Allison spin on, OEM oil and fuel filters, and CAT, Baldwin, and Racor supplemental fuel filters.

The AIRWOLF AFC-470 AND AFC 570 (http://www.airwolf.com/Products/OilFilterCutter/OilFilterCutter.asp) are very high quality filter cutters, but are more expensive. The AFC-470 can handle filters up to 3-7/8
