I had an injector that leaked down. The truck pulled loads for me and ran over 6,000 miles like that. I just could not idle without heavy smoking. I used a 'tool' shut that injector off and the truck ran pretty good on 7 cylinders.

Don't know if that experience fits your symptoms and I am not trained to give opinions on injector problems or issues.

Fuel gelling in the cold? My 6.5 did that to me and it was exactly what you describe until I got it into a warm garage for a day and then delt with the fuel issue.

Sounds like a case of fuel gelling to me. Once it got to the dealer it warmed up and ran fine.

That would make very happy if it was a fuel gelling problem! BTW - I do use a fuel additive.
