SAW MY FIRST AVARADO. 2003

I RODE IN TRAFFIC YESTERDAY WITH A WHITE 4WD 2500 HD. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT COULD BE AN ACCEPTABLE BODY STYLE CHANGE. BUT AFTER A REAL CLOSE LOOK I DONT THINK I WILL BE TO INCLINED TO WANT ONE. I THINK I WILL STICK WITH THE 2002 UNTIL THERE IS A SUGNIFICANT ENGINE AND TRANNY CHANGE. GOTTA LOVE WHAT YOU ALLREADY GOT.

Well mine is built and on its way. I cant wait! The front end looks oaky to me, but as I said I cant see it from the driver seat!!!

i saw a whole transport load of the new '03 chevys on the hwy the other day.. i dunno about the looks yet... gonna have to see them at the dealers in person up close...

An Avalanche came up behind me a couple of days ago and I could only see the front end at first. I think it was a 3/4 ton model. The front end really had the BIG look like the HD. I think it looked pretty good. It will take a little getting used to. The 2003 in the pictures I have seen done look so bad to me. When the new body style came out in the late 80's/90's I didn't like it much and heard some of the same comments I am hearing about the 2003's but the sold a jillion of them just the same and when I bought my 94 I thought new style was one of the best looking ever. If it is GM it looks better than a F**d and is a much better truck overall than either of the other choices, regardless of what it looks like.

If I had to buy an '03 I would get a GMC. The changes they made to the front end were minor and it still looks good. Best of all it looks nothing like an avalanche.

Just saw one at a dealer's in Brockton , sitting next to a 2002 HD , I didn't dislike it . Not as grotesque as some of the posts would have led me to belive . Somewhat on the same subject , I got into a heated discussion with a friend as we were standing looking at my 1989 GMC . I made the comment that it was a better looking truck than either of our 2001's . Chevrolet and GMC . He further stated that he thought the F??d was a better looking truck , GM better riding , that's why he bought it . Go figure !!! I guess that's what makes the world go round .

Well if i was given an '03 I would sell it to buy an '02 or if none left go to gmc or even ford.Gm(chevy) making all there trucks look like that ugly ass advalanche.I can't honestly say that I can not see it from the drivers seat but when i get out ,and when i would wash and wax it and would make me sick.I said the same thing about my '97 and i still like the old 80 's style202's where the only close ones to that not gm is cockie stamping every model what originality :rolleyes:

Over the last 27 years I have owned every style Chevy pick-up from a 52 5 window to My brand spankin` new 02 (with the exception of the 99-02 light duty) and I like the 01-02 2500HD by far the best. Until the HD came out in 01. I was going to get an SD Ford. But as soon as I seen the new front end on the 01 2500HD. I knew that was the truck of my dreams.

A few days ago I nearly made a deal on an 03 Ford SD. Boy am I glad I didn`t.

I think I made the best deal possible on this truck. $26,000 out the door on trade of my 97 Z71 (220,000 miles) The Ford was the next closest at $29,000 (or something like that) The cosest Chevy deal was more then $7,000 more then the deal I got.

I just love my new HD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
