the two pictures above come from my 03 duramax, they have 35k on and the filter seams completly used up, with no rust in the canister as i have seen in other pictures, :rolleyes: this is now only the second fuel filter change in 70k plus, i also sent them to my service manager which had sent them to the area gm service rep, his answer to the pictures was that the filter is doing his job and no water was present compared to others he has seen, he did not recomend second filtration for this truck, to date all injectors are stock and mileage and power are great :D

fuel filter cost = 28.00

injector cost = just under $400 each x 8 = 3200 + labor === just under $5000.00

I think I will keep changeing my fuel filter every 10000 miles...... smile.gif

I've been doing mine at 6-8k at the same time as my engine oil. I also have my Mega filter as additional insurance...

not sure where you found them that cheap, up in canada the lowest price is 54 dollars a filter, if i changed every 5k that would end up of being, to date close, to 800 dollars, and i just hate changing them due to the stupid location, with factory warenty to 160k on the injectors, and sm giving the approval, i will keep up this way, (i used a microwave popcorn bag to wrap arount the filter, worked great), i do feel our fuel is of a better quality, and only use dyed desiel smile.gif
