Anyone replace stock muffler with strait pipe section.

I don't want a aftermarket exhaust for a few reasons. Mainly cost.

I thought removing the muffler and adding a strait pipe might give a little more HP/TQ, reduce EGT's, and make the truck a little louder.


Thoughts???


ps first post to the board. I did a search for an answer and didn't find anything. I've had the truck for 11 days now, and have 1300 miles and already want to "modify" somethign..

Yeah I took the muffler out of mine. Oh yeah its louder. As far as performance I dunno. I do know that it made EGT a lil lower as well as turbo spool up is a lil quicker.

Try searching for straight pipe, there are a few threads about exhaust.
