NAPA oil filter

Anyone using the NAPA 7202 made by Wix!!! Just got a price of $7.25 per filter at local store.

haven't used one but has been highly recommended by the local owner of our parts house .... have found his recommendations to be very reliable for over 20 years :confused:

I used the NAPA filter on my first oil change seemed fine and no leaks for 500 miles now. The can was lighter, it's about half an inch shorter and does not have the hex pattern on the bottom that the original filter did.
From what I've read WIX does have a good rep in this field so I was comfortable with it.

Wix (Dana) has an excellent reputaion in this field. When the whole "Fram" thing came about for Cummins engines (filter media / construction is crap and the casings can't handle the high oil pressure in a diesel), Wix was among the handfull of recommended filters for use with the Cummins engine.
I would think that they would be just as good for the Dmax. I would use one and not think twice about it.

All I have ever ran on my 350 are wix air and oil filters. I have about 120,000 miles on it now. This engine was built to run fast, not forever. I would recommend Wix filters without any reservations whatsoever.

Thanks guys! I guess I'll pick up my next filter at NAPA. Seven and some change sure beats $18 at the dealer!!

$18!! From the Dealer?!! Even in high priced Alaska, the dealers "only" charge $14 and change! I haven't found an aftermarket one locally yet. I'll keep looking.

Alaska Max, my first filter from the dealer was 14.35 the next time I went in the guy at the parts counter said 18.00. When I told him about the 14.35 he remarked 18.00 take it or leave it!!
I had to pay because I needed the filter.

Baldwin makes a very good filter for our trucks and you can find them on the internet. By the way my deal charges $8. John Kennedy sells filters too, I think they were $8.

AC-DELCO (the filter I have been using) was $15 and change from the dealer (Alaska Sales & Service)...went to the AC-DELCO store over on Post road and they had it for $15 and change...when I explained my surprise at their price being the same as the dealer the guy at the counter said what the hell and gave it to me at a cost of $11.01. So you Alaska guys that are interested...there you go. The AC-Delco filter is THE filter that the dealer is providing.

Just bought two AC filters from a AC Delco parts store for $11.01 Each. The dealers are ripping us off.

Just checked with my dealer yesterday and the AC Delco PF2232 is now $8.50. He explained that last winter all they could get was the GM filter, thus the $18 price.
