Hard Downshift

I was pulling my 5th wheel trailer at a slow mph (under 35) and came to a stop sign. I slowed to an almost dead stop but was still rolling at maybe 1-2 mph and when I gave it some throttle the truck didn't immediately respond but after a seconds hesitation it shifted down and felt like a kick in the butt and a loud bang. Startled the daylights out of me and my wife. Anybody else had this happen?

There was an update for this back when the 2002 models were still new. I'd have the dealer perform any applicable ECM and TCM updates and this should take care of this.
