Evans waterless coolant/new member

Hi all! Just joined your informative group. Have been reading for some time, enjoyed and finally made the plunge. Anyone out there have any experience with the Evans NPG waterless coolant? Just purchased to use in my Kubota BH and will most likely put in the Duramax. Any info appreciated. :cool:

If you ever have any cooling system problems, you're going to have one hell of a time getting service under warranty.

I have been running Evans NPG+ in my Duramax since Oct. 2001. I have had no problems over the winter with heat. I am waiting to see how it does this summer. Call me crazy for changing out the Dex-cool but I just don't like it. I have talked with Evans Engineers about this in many different applications. I am going to install it in a gas engine soon with no modifications other than no pressure cap.

Why will you have warranty problems? Meets all GM specs. As far as water being added, if it was then it would not be waterless. This stuff is proven and it works. I have sold many gallons of it and I just sold 9 gallon to a guy to put in his new Power Stroke that only has 2500 miles on it. You can run the engine hot and still have protection plus you will gain power and economy if you run it hotter. Another plus is you run a zero pressure system so it will be less wear and tear on the the cooling system plus head gaskets.

I believe that this is another of those "ideally vs. practically" situations.

Evans coolant will be a warranty problem in the same way that, although it is not prohibited in either the owners' manual or the warranty itself, GM won't permit dealers to execute a diagnosis of driveline problems under warranty on a truck which has larger than OEM tires.

Sometimes the real world just doesn't make sense. :(

How is the evans coolant working out. Is it hard to convert truck or is it only the radiator cap change out. Sound awful good on the evans web site adds.

It wasn't all that hard besides pulling a couple block plugs and flushing out the factory coolant. All you need to do with the pressure cap is drill a 1/16th hole threw it disabling pressure build up.
