View Full Version : 03 Stalling/Hesitating

Hello all,

Long time lurker...

I've got an 03 with about 57K miles. I'm running an Edge Juice with the attitude module. I normally drive with the module on the 3 setting and don't drive it like a race car... I tow about 6-7K lbs about 3-4k miles per year. Have changed the fuel filter every 10-15k miles.

Hopefully that's enough background. Here's the problem. Once while taking off from a stop light the truck died/stalled. Once while turning a 90 degree corner and starting to accelerate it died/stalled. And a third time while leaving a stop sign it hesitated but I was able to keep it running.

The check engine light does not come on so I don't think I'm getting any codes. These events occured with different fuel fillups and different fuel filters.

Remove the Juice and see if you can get it to repeat. Odds are it will not happen again.

I just had a LLY w/ juice that was an intermittent no-start complaint. I couldn't duplicate it. truck came back a month later and wouldn't start at all. unplugged the box and it fired right up. I did it several times to verify my findings. I'd place my bet w/ JK's.

I'm not sure what the outcome was. I told the cust. what the problem was and haven't spoke w/ him since. They usually have very good cust. service.

Edge has been excellent about this. While the problem was not all too widespread, the mid to late 2004 production models were given an updated component to cure this.

Well, been driving it for more than a week and no issues. Called Edge customer support this afternoon and they are shipping me a new unit. Mine has the 4.81 software rev on it which is apparently newer than the version with the known issues. The build date is 11/19/2004. But they did not give me any problems - they said there "Must be some issue..." - here's a new one.

FJ40TB1, ok, I just gotta ask. Where is Argile Texas? Whats it closest major town? Thought I knew them all, but never heard of Argile.
