Alright I just bought a 2002 Duramax with 60000 mile on it bought it from a dodge dealer said the guy traded it in because the warrent ran out my understanding is that the engine has a 100,000 mile warrenty am I wrong. So far no problems love the truck and the engine BUT it seem that my 93 dually 6.5 had more pick up and power so the jury is still out on it

Rick Whaaaaat!? Did your '93 have another 6.5 in the bed too. No way a 6.5 has the acceleration of a DAMX, let alone more.....unless of course there were some mods lurking under the hood/trans/rear diff. Oh and BTW, the engine & drivetrain on the '02 are under warranty for 5yrs 100,000 miles and 7yrs 200,000 on the injectors.

The bumper to bumper warranty expired at 3/36, but the engine and fuel injection system is covered to 5/100 with a $100 deductible (except for the injectors). Additionally, some of the emissions related components are covered for longer than the 3/36.
The fuel injectors on the 2001/2002 models are covered for 7/200 with no deductible.
Empty acceleration (both felt and measured) is about the same between a performance 6.5 and a stock Duramax. Heavy trailering performance will likely be a bit different....
