Anyone know where you can buy AC Delco **618C air filters (the stock air filter for the Duramax) on-line, possibly by the case?

I am tired of dealing with our local auto parts store. Either they don't have it in stock (have to make 2 trips to pay in advance before they will "special order" it), or they tell you they have one, you go there, they don't, or they have one that was returned with a bad element (tear in the filter medium) in it, or they try to push the Wix version (which is not as good IMHO, less filter area than the AC Delco).

Same with the oil filters... (AC-2232).

Thanks,
Tim

Why did my "A 1618C" (space deleted) turn into something else when I posted?

Dave,

Thanks. I didn't find this site when I searched for ACDelco the other day. This sure beats going to the autoparts store to buy filters which they seem to never have in stock.

I bought some from GMpartsDirect.com (http://www.gmpartsdirect.com) for a good price.

(you have to use the GM P/N 25332443 on this site)

Regarding Wix filters (which I still use on my other vehicles), I was surprised the first time I went to the autoparts store to buy the first set of replacement filters for my new Duramax last year when I compared the filter element of the Wix to the filter element of the AC Delco. There wasn't any comparison. The AC Delco has much more filter surface than the Wix. Since then, I have run only AC filters. Perhaps there is a better solution?

Thanks,
Tim

Tim Because quite a while ago now somebody with A 1 in his name(without a space) caused enough trouble around here to get any variation of his name made into a bad word and automatically filtered by the software. Trust me, it was a HUGE amount of trouble. . . just about made this forum useless for a while. . . and think twice and ask at least once before using a vendor who's name starts that way.

dmaxalliTech,
Do you get better deals on the air filters than GMparts or AC direct? Thanks
