Water in fuel warning light

According to my manual it says that when you start the truck you should see a momentary indication in the message center window "water in fuel". All my truck displays in that window is a big red battery indication. Now, according to the manual again if I don't see this test there is a problem with that circuit and it needs to be checked. Any help here would be appreciated.

I have never seen this in my truck either, maybe it happens too fast to see?

That is a misprint in the manual. This was discussed to death when the trucks first came out.

i spent about 2 hrs on this problem on a truck.replaced the senser.this is normal for the light not to come on.
