TH700R4 question about TPS

Hey guys, I think my throttle position sensor needs to be adjusted...my trans locks up TC a little too early in my opinion. Last year I swapped the tps from my old IP to my new one and set it in the same spot...(I've had the trans replaced too...the old one did the same thing)...so I think it needs to be moved. Which way do I move it to delay TC lockup a little longer? I did a search, but couldn't find it. Thanks

Take a look at the throttle shaft and move it by hand as if you were accelerating, Rotate the TPS in the same direction will cause the TPS to click in later, Rotate TPS against shaft rotation will cause the TPS to click on early.

The "by the book" answer is in my post to TPS/Injection Timing to Tom Eichenberger. The key is a .646 block that the throttle stop is held against. My retired dad has a nice shop, I may ask him to mill me one.

You'll find the proceedure in the Haynes Manual.
The diesel mechanics & tranny people "fake it";
Adjusting it until it "feels right". Not very good for the rest of us.

Anyone know how much the gauge blocks cost; and, of course there are different blocks for different applications, model years, etc. A tough nut to crack.

I chased that gage block and finally found it - can't remember the company. It was about $65. Decided I didn't need one that badly. I used a micrometer and grinding wheel and got close enough.
