I'm about to rig up the tach conversion devised by Dr. Lee and improved by GMCTD. Will this setup work with the Autometer 2888 tach? The tach has the standard red(power), black(ground), white(illum), and the two wire lead leading to a mag pickup attached to the alternator.
I plan on running the ESS with this and would also like a little bit more info. The "A" and "B" wire from the ESS gets hooked up where and how? Is there a diferent impendence for this tach compared to the VDO variety used in the article? I see in my manuals that one of them was a ground wire through the computer.
If anyone could send me assembly instructions on the tach mod that would be great also. Thanks for your help,

Jerry

Interesting project, Jerry. I never put the oscilloscope on the output from my original 2888 tach sensor, so I don't know what the voltage output is. Also, you may not have enough adjustment in the 2888 to calibrate it to the ESS, but as I have said in the past: "If we knew the answer, it wouldn't be research."

Dr. Lee
