Is it possible to make your own cord? My truck is an 82 and the block heater is there but i don't have a cord. The plug is just 3 pins arranges in a flat triangle.

You're best off just going and buying a new cord or get the whole assembly. It's been my understanding from advice from others given here that the cord by itself costs just as much as getting a new block heater. The new block heater will come with the cord, and you can keep it for a spare, or if the one installed in your engine is gone.
