I'm a brand new guy to the Diesel Page, just bought my first diesel, having the engine fixed and I would like to add cruise control. It is a 91 c30 6.2 van/truck with automatic trans. Can I do it? Is it possible? Is it practical? Would appreciate any advice.
Which automatic do you have - T400 or 4L80E?
T400 pan is fat Texas shaped
4L80E pan is long and wide

I finally found out gmctd. It is a 4L80E transmission. Do you have any good ideas?
GM has offered Cruise as an option for many years.
Prior to the 4L80E, a vacuum electric servo was the method, but may have been offered in that first year.
The 4L80E trucks got a new all electric servo unit.
Both types got the identical CC stalk for the turn signal lever.
Aftermarket units are available, also, and JCWhitney.com or their catalog would be a good starter source.
Or (and my choice), you could hit the local boneyards for a complete assembly off a truck identical to yours.
Get the servo, cable, injection pump brackets, wiring harness from the cab and engine, and turn signal lever.
