HELP! I have a busted oil line from the engine to the oil cooler. The dealer couldn't help due to this being an 83 model 6.2 "C", but he did give me p/n's (discontinued). Question! Can anyone tell me which one is the inlet and which one is the outlet from the left rear case section. There is a high (position) and low (position) fitting if that helps.

I can't help you with your question but I'll offer a temporary fix. Find some fuel line/rubber hose that'll fit over the line and double clamp both ends. That should get you going until you can replace the line. Good luck. John

I've got an original set that didn't leak off of my '82 k5 with 130K miles. At least I couldn't tell they leaked with as much as the rest of the truck. Let me know if there are any parts you need.

Thanks for the offer of the old lines. I broke out the tubing cutter and the old flaring tool, ran down to the local Aeroquip Dealer and picked up 4 each 4414-8S male flare fittings,1290-8S nuts, 900605-8S sleeves and 3 feet of FC350-10 hose. Cleaned the steel tubing, treated with rusted converter and painted with high temp white paint. 1/2 hour later I was back in business with better than new hose assemblies, that I can repair in the field and the $60 a piece compression fitting hose are history. Total cost was $62. If someone can tell me if the fittings on the engine case are just threaded in and not attached to anything internal, there replacement and conversion to flare type fittings is a snap. :D
