My saga is just about complete on rebuilding my brake and steering system. I replaced the Hydrobbost, power steering unit, and steering gearbox. The brakes went away quickly once I had the Midas touch and the steering pump went away after a friend drove it and held the steering fullon lock left for over a few minutes.

Anyway, the steering is much better and I will change out a heavy duty grease for GP Multi to ease it up also. My brake booster still concerns me a bit. All is new but the brake pedal is hard to push but the brakes do work. I was always used to a boosted pedal feel pretty much to the floor but this stops about an inch and a half and I have to push really hard to get it to the floor. Any ideas?

I bought a new hydroboost and it replaced an Autozone rebuild. I needed a new pedal push rod and I purchased the one that AC/Delco recommended. I was a bit miffed that the rebuild kits are no longer offered but a GM dealer online found me a set for $80.00 It included the seal to hold in the pedal push rod and the backing plate nut. I thought these should have come with a brand new AC/Delco unit. Lo and behold that 2 weeks after building the truck back into shape I start to clean the garage. I needed a box to send some other cores back in and i went to empty the box out and out came the kit with the items I needed under the wrapping paper. Could do nothing but laugh it off.

If anyone has any ideas on a stiff brake pedal feel with brand new components (100 city miles on it) please let me know. Thanks,

Does this include a master Cyl. Any time a peddle goes close to the floor there still air bubbles in the system. I found(takes some time)to bleed my system is to just to open bleeder and let gravty takes its course.Keep eye on leavel. I do this when changing out the fluid with new.

Never touched the fluid side of the brakes. Pretty straight forward swap and not too many Ibuprofen needed for gymnastic skills.

I was always used to a boosted pedal feel pretty much to the floor but this stops about an inch and a half.

This is not good, should be the other way around.
Hopefull that when Midas replaced the front pads they lossend the bleader before pushing piston back in?
Bet they did not and now you have GRUD in the master.
Sorry, now sound like you have Master Cyl problems.
